Our Story

Our Story

We are a boutique studio based in New York specializing in cutting edge 3D and VR design solutions.

 

Phosphene Designs was forged through a bond formed during thesis at Parsons School of Design. For a whole year, fueled by nothing other than a common passion, we worked together, played together, laughed together and cried together. From a diverse group of individuals with backgrounds in animation, business, game design, programming, and 3D modeling, we become lifelong friends and a versatile and complementary team, a gestalt greater than the sum of its parts.

Hanyang Jiang

Project Manager, 3D Environment Artist

The team captain who does everything from working in the trenches on 3D models and game design, to creating business strategy and managing workflow, to making the most important decision of them all. What do we have for lunch?

3D Character Artist, Animator
The Mr. Nice Guy who’s always there to lend you a helping hand, whether is helping someone to move or meet their deadline. He’s also the president of the Phosphene Shiba Inu club.

Victoria Yen

Game Designer, Programmer

The unsung hero of the team, composing, compiling and debugging code, she’s always the last one to check off on a project ensuring high standard deliverables. She sings a mean karaoke, sometimes even in the office, which she insists is part of her creative process.

Yihan Zhou

Concept Artist, Animator

The artist who will translate any concept you have into something on paper at blazing fast speed. She’s also the one who will tell you in length why blue #1 is better than its slightly off-shade cousin blue #2.

Level Designer, Programmer

The fast learner who’s always honing his craft and researching new ways to optimize things on his end. He’s the guy who knows all about VR and always has “interesting” VR ideas.

Chia Hsuan Chou

VR Art Consultant

Hsuan is an interactive designer who has experience in VR photo shooting and game making. Her VR works shown in 2016 NYC Media Lab, South by Southwest (SXSW) and Immersive Storytelling, the Conferences holed by the Daily News Innovation Lab in collaboration with Google News Lab and NYC Media Lab at Microsoft Time Square building.
